Join us on 14 February at Majestic Square from 10am to 5pm for a day of Dance, Music, Poetry, Speakers, Stalls, Food, Raffles and Fundraising for Women’s Network Whanganui as part of La Fiesta #11!

“We began in 2013 with a much-needed call to end violence against women.

It is now 2020, and we are still making that call, however, we are also standing in solidarity with ALL those affected by violence, in all its forms. We cannot make a change if we are divided, we must work together, all of us.

We stand in solidarity with ALL affected by abuse, rape, gender violence, femicide, corporatisation, genital mutilation, forced occupation, erasure, child marriage, bigotry, racism, sexual slavery and human trafficking, fascism, tyranny, hatred of and fear of immigrants, misogyny, homophobia, transphobia, capitalism, colonisation, imperialism, war and climate catastrophe, corporate greed and climate destruction.

This is a worldwide event and Whanganui has been the first in the world to kick it off for all these years. Over 200 countries participate, and we are honoured to be a part of it. People all over the world are dancing together, in a worldwide wave to Break the Chain and rise together.
