Greening Whanganui

Greening Whanganui is all about fostering community engagement to increase planting in our district.

Working with kura, schools, marae, churches and other community groups and individuals, we have information and advice to support the successful planting of natives, fruit trees and vegetables.

Our highly skilled coordinator is available to assist with everything from design and plant selection to planting advice, ensuring you have the right knowledge and support for a thriving garden.

We also offer post-planting advice to help your trees and plants continue to flourish for years to come.

Over the years, we have donated and planted hundreds of trees in our community. If you’d like to be part of this journey and contribute to Greening Whanganui, we’d love to hear from you!

Additionally, thanks to the generous support of the Department of Conservation and Whanganui District Council, we offer a Planting Kete for loan. This Kete, which includes tamariki and adult-sized planting tools, ensures you have the right equipment for your next planting project. Feel free to drop by or email the EnviroHub to make a booking!
