Predator Free
Predator Free Whanganui works to protect native flora and fauna through effective predator control and is part of the national Predator Free 2050 programme targeting possums, rats and mustelids (stoats, ferrets and weasels).
You can become part of this community by setting up a trap in your backyard, contributing your trapping data or becoming a volunteer to check our existing Traplines
With a growing trap library at the EnviroHub (it only costs $2 to borrow a trap), Predator Free Whanganui seeks to combine local values and context with expert knowledge of predator control so flora and fauna can thrive.
If you have traps in your garden, please visit Trap NZ – Whanganui, request membership to the Project and select urban or rural for your trap siting. This will enable you to register your traps, upload data and participate in the movement, and view the communal efforts achieved.
You could also join our Predator Free Whanganui Facebook if you would like to show support.
